  Cat tales from the road

Charlie

Picture
My name is Charlie.  I joined my 'forever family' when they took me from what they called, the Rescue Center.  Even though I was very well looked after at the Rescue Center, I settled into living in my new families' 25 foot trailer very easily.
Hang on, I take that back, I was quite happy to be with my new Mom and Dad, but there was another creature that looked like me, but she hissed and growled at me for ages when I first arrived on the scene.
I ignored her most of the time, but I think it was my natural cuteness that finally got the better of her, and two days after being settled into my new home, she suddenly grabbed me and started to cuddle and kiss me (bletch).....  anyway, apart from all of the slobbery stuff, we both got on very well from that moment on and she has looked after me ever since.

The two of us

We have been together for a couple of years now and get on famously.  We have traveled to many parts of North America so far and we consider ourselves the best traveled cats on the block.
We love it when our 'parents'  drive us from one interesting location to another.  One night we might be in the middle of nowhere, with no visible lights to disturb our nightly vigil at the window.  It's on these nights that we encounter so many scary creatures out there.  They howl and they bark and they sniff.  It doesn't matter how nasty those creatures get, we always know that we are safe in our cozy little trailer with our family.
We sometimes go to some totally opposite places, where there are huge noisy monsters that drive around us all night, making us quite uncomfortable and sometimes even scared.  That's when we decide between ourselves that we would rather be in what the grown ups call, 'the desert' or the boondocks or mother nature.

Hello.  I just want you to know that I was in fact the first addition to my family.  I was also at the Rescue Shelter, until my  Mom and Dad took a shine to me and took me to their nifty little 25 foot trailer located in a campground just down the road from where my previous home had been.
I was quite rambunctious and difficult to keep occupied for 24 hours a day, so my Dad decided I needed a companion to keep me out of his hair.
It was at this time that Charlie suddenly walked into my life and turned it upside down.  Believe me, I was not happy about this stranger infringing on my terriroty that I had worked so hard to maintain.
I made sure that he felt very unwelcome in the beginning.  I hissed and I spat and I growled until I just couldn't keep it up any longer.
It was then that I decided that enough was enough and if I couldn't get the better of him, i might as well be his new sister and protector.
As soon as I gave him a big hug, he just melted in my arms and has been at my command every since.

We are currently living in our huge 4 bedroom playroom, where we can run up and down the stairs, from one room to the other, without a care in the world. Our Dad is always working in our other 'home on wheels', so we are guessing that we will be back on our travels sometime in the future.

2019 - IT;S BEEN A LONG, COLD WINTER

You might think by the title that we have stayed home for the winter, up in the snowy northern climes.  But you are wrong, we have been 'out West' as our human owners will say.  The problem is that when we are on our adventures on the road, we are ALWAYS allowed out for a walk, as soon as we arrive at a new location, or, if we are in a spot for a long time, we are let out
Here are some videos of what we get up to when we are left to our own devices while on the road
